Data Manager


Based in Luxembourg, working on site with the possibility of 1 to 2 days remote working.


Our client is ideally looking for an immediate start, however they can wait a notice period for the right candidate.


Within the IT Department, you will work as a Data Manager where you will directly report to the Chief Data Officer. You will be responsible for data quality management and the data by design process to enable our client to use the full potential of this data. Within this role, you will act as a facilitator between Data Stewards and Data Owners, Data Protection/Security teams, and development teams. You will play a key role in the implementation of the organisation's data strategy and the "Data & AI" project portfolio.


Responsibilities


Enforce Data Strategy:

  • Create and enforce data standards, including data governance policies and data quality frameworks.
  • Set up and maintain the data catalog (business glossary and data dictionary) as well as the documentation of data flows.

Monitor data maturity:

  • Manage the Data Committee
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for data management.

Implement and support the "data by design" process:

  • Monitor the use of critical data and the associated data quality requirements in collaboration with stakeholders (data architect, DPO, ...)

Support data owners and data stewards in a particular area:

  • Document, monitor and share data quality: propose and track data quality rules and establish remediation plans and KPIs.
  • Assist them in classifying data for privacy, security, and business criticality.

Monitor and enforce compliance with requirements and rules regarding personal data (GDPR):

  • Monitor access to data to ensure that it is used in accordance with privacy and security standards.
  • Manage customer requests

Responding to internal controls:

  • Provide evidence for internal controls over established processes and standards.


Your profile


  • Degree in computer science, data management, statistics, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in data management, data quality or data governance.
  • Knowledge of data protection regulations, including GDPR.
  • Communication and collaboration skills with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyse data and make recommendations based on results.
  • Project management skills
  • Fluent in French and English
