THE ROLE: Data / Media Manager
THE ROLE:
As the Data & Media Manager, you will play a crucial role in the organization and management of video assets for our productions. Your expertise will ensure that all media is efficiently archived and accessible, supporting our creative teams in delivering high-quality content. This role is integral to the success of our productions, and we are looking for someone who is excited to take ownership of our digital asset library and contribute to our creative vision.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Media Management: Maintain and oversee video assets, ensuring all media is archived in an organized manner for easy retrieval.
Backup and Storage: Backup all media and data related to films, shows, and various production projects. Manage backups across various systems, including but not limited to our server, Iconik, QNAP, and LTO tapes.
Footage Processing: Upload, transcode, organize, and tag footage in our backup systems. Ingest media into platforms such as Iconik and allocate footage to video editors for various projects.
Archival Footage: Locate and manage in house archival footage, purchasing stock and archival content when necessary.
Project File Management: Backup all project files to both warm and cold storage solutions. Allocate footage to video editors for all necessary projects. Confirm when editors will receive footage after backup.
Process Improvement: Iterate on current processes and remind team members to ensure proper footage handoff and maintenance, promoting best practices across the organization. Explore integration opportunities with other project management and editing tools to streamline workflows.
Collaboration: Confirm timelines with editors regarding footage availability and ensure effective communication with producers and editors daily. Ensure that shipped or distributed hard drives are tracked for return.
Training and Support: Develop training materials for team members on media management best practices. Establish a feedback loop to continuously refine processes and address any challenges related to media management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Proven experience in media management for filmmaking and video production Strong communication skills required to have a strong understanding of project scopes and collaborate effectively with team members
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and address storage issues proactively
Self-starter with a strong motivation to manage and optimize a large and ever growing digital asset library, identifying areas for improvement by continuously reviewing processes and staying up to date on industry trends and standards, candidate can offer and implement changes that lead to time savings and quality improvements

5 plus years experience as a DIT in both field and post environments.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
