Job Description

The Data Management Specialist plays a crucial role in the Operations and Planning Team as the main driver of consolidating data from various sources into a single repository , establishing and maintaining a centralized, well-governed data repository that consolidates information from multiple sources, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and accessibility for internal teams . This role requires technical expertise in data analysis, extraction, transformation and loading, and strong problem-solving and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Data Migration Planning and Transformation

• Develop detailed migration strategies and timelines.
• Analyze existing systems and data structures to determine the scope of migration
  
  

Data Extraction

• Extract data from legacy systems
• Clean, validate, and transform data to meet the new system's requirements.
  
  

Data Loading and Testing

• Load transformed data into the target system.
• Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  
  

Ensure Data Reliability, Integrity, Quality and Security

• Conduct data audits and troubleshoot issues related to data integrity and quality.
• Identify and resolve data inconsistencies
• Implement data security, privacy, and compliance measures to protect sensitive information
• Monitor data access and usage.
  
  

Team Collaboration & Skill Development

• Work closely with the Managers to support team and business stakeholders in understanding data centralization and migration requirements.
• Contribute to training programs, knowledge-sharing initiatives, and mentorship efforts to uplift team skills.
• Enhance documentation, knowledge management, and handoff processes to improve team efficiency.
• Provide regular updates on progress, risks, and issues.
  
  

Experience

What You Bring to the Table:

• 5+ years in analytics or data engineering with hands-on execution experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or Data Analytics.
• Proven experience in driving operational improvements and collaborating on process enhancements.
• Hands-on experience deploying end-to-end data ingestion pipelines to production (e.g., REST APIs, data warehouse, CI/CD, etc.).
  
  

Skills

• Advanced SQL skills to design complex queries that aggregate, filter, and transform data effectively for materialized views.
• Proficient knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
• Knowledge of data quality checks, monitoring, and observability best practices.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills for pipeline failures.
• Strong documentation skills to maintain pipeline lineage and dependencies.
• Expert in at least one programming language for data analysis (e.g. Python, R)
• Expert in schema design and dimensional data modeling
• Experience in loading and maintaining data on Monday.com
• Strong understanding of the modern data stack, project management methodologies, and stakeholder engagement.
