Job Description

Advanced Robotics Group, LLC is looking for elite, experienced Data Infrastructure Engineers who are seriously good at what they do and want to join an elite team defying conventional wisdom regarding what is possible with robotics. As we continue to push the boundaries of what's possible, we're expanding our team of pioneers to create the future.

ARG is a driven team of technology experts developing a portfolio of non-consumer robots to operate fully autonomously in some exceptionally demanding environments. Accompanying our robotics solutions, we are refining a pioneering proprietary analytics platform providing deep insights from petabytes of data. Over the last 12 years, we have developed solutions to a range of autonomous robotics and analytics challenges still thought to be impossible by the outside and are expanding and refining our portfolio of solutions before emerging from stealth and going to market with a global footprint.

We solve the most difficult challenges.

We're looking for talented and driven individuals to join our team in Houston. If you're passionate about tackling complex challenges and excited to learn and grow in new technical domains, you'll feel right at home here.

We compensate generously including stock options and provide full medical, disability, and vision coverage, plus fun lunches and a stocked kitchen.

ARG is looking for Data Infrastructure Engineers to own the infrastructure that supports our robotics and analytics workflows. This person will ensure that our compute resources, codebases, data pipelines, and deployment tools are rock solid, reproducible and ready to scale.

You’ll work across teams to support everything from automated data ingestion to distributed ML training – playing a foundational role in how we handle and deploy massive volumes of robotic data. You’ll also help evolve the architecture of our internal codebases to support long-term growth, maintainability and collaboration.

You will:

  • Maintain and debug production systems across a growing, multi-language codebase
  • Drive improvements to code structure, maintainability, and system architecture across the codebase
  • Manage dependencies, environments, Docker containers, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Build and maintain automated workflows (e.g., Airflow) for data ingestion and analysis
  • Develop scalable infrastructure for big data applications across Kubernetes and HPC environments
  • Collaborate with a dynamic group of innovative professionals and entrepreneurs

What we’re looking for:

  • Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific communication skills
  • Strong background in Linux, Kubernetes, and CI/CD practices
  • Proficiency with Python, C++, Rust and SQL
  • Experience with distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Ray) and task orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow)
  • Familiarity with scalable systems design and modern DevOps tooling
  • Solid understanding of software architecture, code hygiene, and long-term maintainability in complex codebases
  • Fast learner, adaptable to cross-domain technical challenges
  • Ability to incorporate new best-in-class technologies quickly and reliably
  • BS/MS/PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field

Nice to have:

  • 5+ years of related experience

Location: Main development center on Kirby Dr. in Houston, Texas
