Summary

As a Data Governance Manager, you will be responsible for managing and safeguarding enterprise data assets through the implementation and operationalization of a data governance framework. Your primary focus will be on maintaining data quality, ensuring proper data usage, supporting compliance, and enforcing data lineage practices. You will collaborate closely with data stewards across various domains to define and apply data quality rules and support end-to-end governance processes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply data stewardship principles in alignment with overarching data governance policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data classification methods and implement validation and quality rules across areas such as risk, finance, KYC/AML, and customer data.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of data governance processes and reporting procedures.
  • Support data lineage initiatives to ensure traceability, accuracy, and completeness of data across systems.
  • Participate in the design, implementation, and adoption of enterprise data governance tools.
  • Ensure that data governance practices comply with relevant regulatory requirements, such as BCBS 239.
  • Promote a culture of data quality, stewardship, and best practices.
  • Deliver training and support to data stakeholders to embed governance practices within operational workflows.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2–5 years of relevant experience in data-related roles (e.g., governance, management, regulatory reporting, data architecture).
  • Certifications such as CDMP, Collibra, DGSP, or CIMP are advantageous.
  • Experience implementing data governance and stewardship programs, particularly within financial institutions.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and ability to design and enforce data quality rules.
  • Familiarity with data governance and automation tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alteryx).
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills, with experience engaging business and technical teams.
  • Prior experience with governance in either banking or consulting environments is valuable.
