Job Description

1. Summary:

The Data Governance team plays a critical stewardship role in ensuring the quality, integrity, and accessibility of data within the organization. This role supports the broader team with a blend of technical skills, including SQL, and analytical abilities to identify and resolve data issues.

The successful candidate will work closely with data owners to implement, improve and automate robust data analytics and monitoring capabilities that meet enterprise data governance policies and standards.

They will also utilize analytical skills to support data quality initiatives and provide insights to business stakeholders from time to time.

2. Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with data owners and stewards to define and implement data governance policies and standards.

• Develop and maintain data quality monitoring, metrics and reports to monitor data health.

• Identify and resolve data quality issues, working with relevant stakeholders to implement corrective actions.

• Conduct data profiling and analysis to assess data quality and identify areas for improvement.

• Utilize SQL and other analytical tools to perform data analysis and reporting.

• Develop and deliver data governance training to relevant stakeholders.

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of data dictionaries and metadata repositories.

• Stay current on data governance best practices and emerging technologies.

• Support data-driven decision making by providing data insights and recommendations.

• Participate in data governance projects and initiatives.

3. Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.

• Proven experience in data governance and data stewardship roles.

• Proficient in SQL and other data analysis tools.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience with data quality tools and techniques.

• Understanding of data management principles and best practices.

4. Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with data visualization tools.

• Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes.

• Experience with data governance frameworks and methodologies.

• Certifications in data governance or data management.
