We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Regulatory Data Governance Hands-on Data Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting regulatory data governance efforts and ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and compliance. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel and SQL, and hands-on experience with data forensics. Experience with Collibra is a plus, and the candidate must have excellent communication skills to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Perform detailed data analysis to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and governance standards.
Utilize Excel and SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis, providing insights on data quality and integrity.
Conduct data forensics to identify data discrepancies, gaps, and trends to ensure accuracy and transparency.
Assist in the implementation of data governance processes, ensuring data is properly classified, tracked, and managed across the organization.
Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of data governance frameworks and data quality initiatives.
Collaborate with various business units, including regulatory, compliance, and IT teams, to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and data governance policies.
Assist with reporting and documentation of findings, issues, and data anomalies.
Provide recommendations for data improvements and contribute to continuous data governance efforts.
Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, explaining complex data issues in a clear and concise manner.
Requirements
3-5 years of hands-on experience in data analysis, regulatory data governance, or related fields.
Strong proficiency in Excel for data manipulation, reporting, and analysis.
Expertise in SQL for querying databases, data extraction, and analysis.
Experience with data forensics to identify, track, and resolve data quality issues.
Familiarity with Collibra or similar data governance platforms is highly preferred.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks effectively.
Ability to work onsite in New York City 3-4 days a week
Experience with data governance frameworks, regulatory compliance, or financial services.
Understanding of data privacy regulations and their impact on data governance.
