Data Engineering Manager

You’ll architect cutting-edge data systems, craft stunning dashboards, stream data like a pro, and ensure we’re collecting the right data from our apps to fuel analytics, products, and partnerships. WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Lead with Action: Jump into the trenches to design and build scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows using AWS tools, powering real-time insights and partner integrations.
• Architect Like a Visionary: Create robust, scalable databases and data infrastructure (think S3, Glue, Redshift, Kinesis) to handle real-time and batch processing with ease.
• Build Killer Dashboards: Craft dynamic, visually stunning dashboards (using Tableau, Looker, or QuickSight) that bring key metrics to life for teams and stakeholders.
• Master Data Streaming: Design and manage real-time streaming pipelines with AWS Kinesis or MSK to keep data flowing seamlessly.
• Own CI/CD for Data: Implement and champion CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth, automated deployment of data workflows and infrastructure.
• Know What Data Matters: Collaborate with app teams to pinpoint and collect the right data from our applications, ensuring it’s accurate, relevant, and ready for action.
• Streamline Partner Data: Deliver clean, secure, and timely datasets to external partners, making data sharing a breeze.
• Inspire Your Team: Mentor and grow a crew of data engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and hands-on problem-solving.
• Keep It Running: Monitor and optimize data systems for peak performance, squashing issues before they arise.
• Push the Tech Envelope: Drive adoption of AWS-native tools (Glue, Redshift, Athena, dbt, Airflow) and modern data stack tech to stay ahead of the curve.
• Align with Impact: Partner with stakeholders to turn business goals into data-driven wins.

WHO YOU ARE

• A hands-on data wizard with 8+ years in data or backend engineering and 2+ years leading teams, always ready to code, debug, or architect.
• A pro at designing scalable databases, data modeling (OLTP & OLAP), and orchestrating pipelines on AWS.
• Fluent in Python and SQL, with a knack for squeezing performance out of massive datasets.
• Experienced in building eye-catching dashboards with tools like Tableau, Looker, or AWS QuickSight.
• A master of real-time streaming with AWS Kinesis or MSK, ensuring data flows without a hitch.
• Skilled in CI/CD for data pipelines, automating deployments like a DevOps rockstar.
• A data detective who knows how to identify and collect the right data from apps to drive business value.
• A leader who inspires, with killer communication skills and a track record of building high-energy, high-performing teams.

Bonus Points If You’ve Got:

• Experience with secure data sharing to external partners.
• Familiarity with data privacy standards like GDPR or HIPAA.
• Exposure to MLOps or analytics engineering workflows.
