About Us: Hitachi Digital is a leader in digital transformation, leveraging advanced AI and data technologies to drive innovation and efficiency across various operational companies (OpCos) and departments. We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Data Engineering and Advanced Analytics, focusing on data fabric, data mesh, governance, and data quality initiatives within a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment.
The role: Data Engineering and Advanced Analytics Sr Manager
Job Description: Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and implementation of data engineering solutions for Project Phoenix, including data fabric and data mesh architectures.
Oversee data governance and data quality efforts to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of data across the organization.
Develop and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data solutions into existing systems and workflows.
Develop and implement advanced analytics strategies to drive business insights and decision-making.
Conduct research and stay updated on the latest advancements in data engineering and analytics technologies and methodologies.
Optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, and accuracy.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to data systems and applications.
Document data engineering processes, methodologies, and best practices.
Mentor and lead a team of data engineers and analysts, providing guidance and support.
Provide strategic direction and leadership in data technology adoption and innovation.
Manage relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment of data initiatives with business objectives.
What you’ll bring:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, or a related field; PhD preferred.
10+ years of experience in data engineering and advanced analytics, with a focus on data fabric, data mesh, governance, and data quality.
Extensive experience in managing data governance frameworks and tools.
Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or SQL.
Extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including BigQuery, DataProc, and SnapLogic.
Experience with VectorAI, Agentic AI, and AI chatbot development.
Experience in setting up HR and Finance-focused data models, including Workday integration.
Knowledge of data quality management practices and tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Proven leadership skills and experience in guiding data projects from conception to deployment.
Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale data initiatives and drive organizational change.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with advanced analytics tools and techniques.
Previous experience in a similar role within a tech-driven company.
