Data Visualisation Engineer – Drive Insights for a Growing Tech Company (Manchester, Hybrid)

As a Data Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions. This involves defining key metrics, conducting exploratory analysis, and working closely with stakeholders to translate their needs into actionable data insights. The ideal candidate will be proactive, capable of independent work, and comfortable engaging with various teams. This role offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to be involved in the full end-to-end data lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, enhance, and maintain interactive data visualisations and dashboards, ideally using QuickSight.
• Define and implement key business metrics that align with strategic objectives.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams to gather requirements, refine project scopes, and communicate insights effectively.
• Create and maintain scalable and efficient databases to support analytics requirements.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all reports and dashboards.
• Collaborate with other teams to support data-driven decision-making processes.
• Stay up to date with best practices and emerging technologies in data visualisation and analytics.

About You:

Here’s what we're looking for:

• Strong experience with BI tools; familiarity with AWS QuickSight is a significant advantage.
• Solid proficiency in SQL for data querying, transformation, and optimisation.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as Redshift, S3, and Athena is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to work autonomously, take ownership of projects, and proactively identify solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into data solutions.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence in engaging with stakeholders to define project requirements and present findings.
• Experience in defining and maintaining data models, ETL pipelines, and databases is a plus.
