Summary

For one of our Financial Clients we are currently looking for an Data Engineer to join a dynamic, international team focused on delivering strategic solutions within the Responsible Investments domain. This role is pivotal in developing and optimizing data pipelines that support both new and existing investment and research platforms, contributing directly to enhancing investment strategies through cloud-based technologies.


You will collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams—including front office, IT, and architecture—as well as business and analytics stakeholders to design, implement, and maintain robust data solutions. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-changing environment and demonstrates a strong affinity for financial data and advanced technologies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring feasibility and efficiency.
  • Set up and manage Azure DevOps repositories for collaborative development and version control.
  • Maintain and optimize Databricks workspaces, managing dependencies and integrations.
  • Develop, document, and maintain data pipelines aligned with business methodologies.
  • Enhance data models to improve insights via business intelligence tools.
  • Collaborate within agile teams to contribute to solution strategies and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and validate design of data pipelines and applications.
  • Engage with both technical teams and business users to ensure seamless integration and usability.
  • Support testing phases and deployment activities.
  • Transfer knowledge and mentor team members as needed.


Your Profile:

  • Proven track record (5+ years) in data modeling, querying, and data pipeline development.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or other programming languages.
  • Solid understanding of Data Engineering, DevOps principles, and Azure Data Platform.
  • Strong experience with PySpark framework and Databricks.
  • Familiarity with complex financial datasets and their management.
  • Background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and a proactive team player with a quality-first mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and enhance T-shaped skills.


Desirable Skills:

  • Experience setting up and maintaining SQL databases.
  • Web development experience.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and working environments.
  • Experience coaching junior developers and fostering high-performing teams.
  • Strong ability to challenge and engage with end users constructively.
