Overview The Data Engineer IV is a senior level role, responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing large-scale data pipelines, architectures, and the data sets that drive advanced business analytics and decision making. This position will work on all phases of the software development lifecycle supporting a variety of projects and applications. This position will work closely with data analysts and IT teams to implement data solutions that improve performance, scalability, and reliability. Candidates for this roleshould be proficient in handling complex datasets and be an expert in modern cloud-based data platforms, ETL/ELT processes, and automation tools Essential Functions * Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures, ensuring efficient ETL/ELT processes that meet business requirements• Collaborate with cross functional teams to integrate large volumes of data Implement from different sources• Lead efforts to automate repetitive data engineering tasks and introduce new tools/technologies to optimize workflows• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data models, schemas, and technical processes to support ongoing operational and developmental efforts• Implement security measures and best practices to ensure data protection and compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards• Design, build and deploy customer facing Bl solutions (Analysis cubes, Power BI) and build the reporting metadata layer• Design, develop, and support data marts and cubes to support functional area data consumers• Support and create data pipelines• Ensure data integrity and accuracy through implementation of monitoring, validation, and auditing mechanisms across data systems• Continuously improve the performance of data systems by automating processes, and refining queries, utilizing best practices for distributed computing Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience• 7+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL and Microsoft Azure technologies including Power BI• 3+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL and Microsoft Azure• Strong verbal and written communication skills, analytical and decision-making skills, and ability to work on cross-functional teams• Solid understanding and usage of source control solutions• Change and release management skills• Requirements gathering and documentation skillsTechnical Skills:• Databases - MS SQL Server, Azure Synapse• Tools - Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio, Azure DevOps, Redgate, Power BI• Languages - DAX, PowerShell• Other - SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite, VisioCore Competencies:• Communication: Convey information, ideas, and feedback clearly and concisely in an engaging manner that helps others understand and retain the message; listening actively to others.• Customer Focus: Place a high priority on the customer's perspective when making decisions and taking action; implementing service practices that meet the customers' and own organization's needs.• Driving for Results: Set SMART goals and measure progress; tenaciously working to meet or exceed goals and making continuous improvement.
