Job Title: Director, Data Engineering – Card Technology

Salary Range: $239,900 – $328,500 per year (location-dependent)

Overview:

A leading financial technology organization is seeking a Director of Data Engineering to lead data innovation within its card technology division. This role will oversee teams building scalable, real-time data solutions that support low-latency systems and enhance operational agility. As a hands-on technical leader, you'll drive platform modernization, automation, and cloud adoption while fostering a culture of engineering excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and grow multiple agile teams focused on data engineering and distributed systems.
• Oversee the development and management of scalable, high-performance data pipelines and platforms.
• Guide modernization of tech stacks, with an emphasis on cloud-native solutions and automation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, product managers, and analytics professionals.
• Deploy and support applications in AWS environments; promote DevOps and continuous delivery practices.
• Champion emerging technologies and open-source tools to elevate data capabilities.
• Conduct design and code reviews to ensure engineering quality and compliance.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
• 5+ years of people management experience.
• 7+ years of hands-on software or data engineering experience.
• 3+ years working with cloud-based data platforms (preferably AWS).
