We are currently seeking competent individuals to fulfill the role of Data Engineer Consultant to join our dynamic team to work at our client.
Term: 12 months
Support business initiatives in developing, maintaining and improving key reports/dashboard, and critical data solutions.
Design and develop efficient, scalable, and reliable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) data from various sources into data warehouses.
Design and maintain relational and non-relational databases to store structured and unstructured data ensuring the DB performance, data availability and responsiveness.
Integrate data from different sources, including APIs, databases, and external services ensuring the data synchronization and data versioning.
Full-stack data solutions development – web Front-end, back-end Api, and Database to data visualization
Responsible to ensure the product quality and deployment to different environments
Opportunity to experiment with Large Language Model, assist and develop predictive analysis, and/or statistical modelling
Visualize data, metrics, and patterns to produce insightful analytics, summarization and collaborate with business teams on implementation
Contribute to the design and implementation of various data foundations and architecture to support long-term analytical needs
Be able to research independently for potential solutions to problems encountered in programming
Maintain, monitor, and improve data science ecosystem: data pipeline, statistical model development and/or business applications
What you'll need:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in quantitative domains: Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
Minor or advanced degree in Finance is an asset.
5+ years’ experience in business-oriented data science and analytics.
Passion for data analysis and problem solving to support investment decision making
Self-motivated, ability to do independent research
Strong communication skills, ability to articulate thoughts / ideas to effectively collaborate with a variety of teams from both investments and technology
Strong desire to work in a team-based and collaborative environment
Strong programming skills (e.g. .Net Technologies, Python, SQL)
Experience with data warehousing and big data technologies such as SQL Server, Snowflake, Spark, Databricks etc.
Full-stack programming experience with React/Angular, C#/Python Flask
Experience with Automated Testing for data pipelines and workflows
Familiarity with CICD (Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment) practices for data engineering projects
Proficient with data visualization tools: PBI/Tableau etc.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) and related services
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
High degree of interest in investment and asset management.
Experience in industry or an academic setting of:
Full cycle of analytics solution development
Business oriented data engineering life cycle: data mining, ETL, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, production support.
Machine Learning engineering experience is an asset
Strong problem-solving skills working in a team-based environment

Pay: $70.00-$90.00 per hour
