We are looking for a Data Engineer who will design, develop, and maintain different flows on our Data Lake and Data Warehouse.

The Data Engineer role requires substantial, hands-on expertise in designing and implementing robust data architecture aimed at empowering BI specialists to create BI dashboards. The ideal candidate should be proactive, and adept at meeting the data requirements of various teams, systems, and products.

Key responsibilities include developing ETL processes for data extraction from diverse sources such as APIs, HTTP requests, web scraping, and databases. Proficiency in data cleansing techniques, including multi-processing, is advantageous. Moreover, the candidate should possess practical experience in deploying and overseeing both relational and non-relational databases, as well as data warehouses.

What will you do:

• Design and develop new data flows for data ingestion and processing. Getting the data through all stages of the process from Source to Data Lake and to Warehouse.
• Communicate and coordinate with the IT department of the company who is responsible for acquiring, commissioning and preparing the new architecture.
• Identify the right data sources, endpoints and granularity of the data required by the BI specialists.
• Coordinate and communicate with 3rd party software support teams, database admins, ERP admins and other data source owners or producers to get access to data.
• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and build out new API integrations to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity.
• Write reusable, testable, and efficient code.
• Implement processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes that depend on it.
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
• Works closely with all business units and engineering teams to develop strategy for long term data platform architecture.

Profile requirements:

• University degree in economics, mathematics, statistics, engineering, or IT
• Previous 5+ years’ experience as a Data Engineer, preferably with SQL and Python advanced knowledge
• At least 3 years of experience developing multiprocessing ETLs
• Azure Data Factory, Snowflake or Matillion are considered a plus.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases and query optimization to efficiently maintain and process large amounts of information.
• Experience with building data pipelines with task orchestrators such as Airflow/Luigi
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases
