We are looking for a Data Engineer with solid technical skills and hands-on experience in building data pipelines and working with large datasets. As part of our data engineering team, they will contribute to designing, developing, and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers analytics, reporting, and decision-making across the organization. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to deepen their expertise in scalable data systems and cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain data pipelines (batch and real-time) to ingest, process, and transform data from various sources.
  • Implement and optimize ETL/ELT workflows to move data efficiently into our data warehouse and data lake.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and analysts to understand business requirements and translate them into data models and flows.
  • Work with tools like Apache Spark, Snowflake, Airflow, AWS to build reliable and scalable processing jobs.
  • Participate in code reviews, documentation, and testing to ensure high-quality, maintainable code.
  • Monitor pipeline performance and troubleshoot data-related issues as they arise.
  • Follow data security and governance best practices to ensure sensitive data is protected and well-managed.
  • Continuously learn new tools and best practices to improve development processes and system reliability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering.
  • Strong programming skills in Python or Scala, and familiarity with SQL.
  • Experience building data pipelines using Apache Spark.
  • Understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and relational databases (e.g., Redshift, PostgreSQL).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS (S3, Lambda, EMR, EC2, etc.).
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and Agile development methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a curiosity to explore and understand complex systems.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to DevOps practices and tools such as CI/CD, Terraform, or Docker is a plus.
  • Experience with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow or AWS Step Functions.
  • Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and security compliance standards.
