We are continuously growing and we are looking for a Data Center Operator to join our UniQue ITOC & Data Center Operation team.

What will you be bringing to the team?

For the Data Center Operator position we expect you to:

• Monitor data center computer systems and hardware and investigate the cause of any malfunction in order to resolve it in accordance with company procedures
• Provide immediate updates in case of an emergency
• Deny access to people without credentials or official entrance approval
• Update the Data Center journal with any visits or other incidents that should be recorded
• Handle incoming calls and client requests (e.g. media tape change) and act accordingly after verifying the origin of the request
• Receive, enter and monitor cloud-related calls
• Monitor the functionality of cloud infrastructure and services via MS System Centre (SCOM) and provide 1st level support if necessary
• Escalate unresolved issues to 2nd level support team and collaborate for resolution
• Inform the supervisor of any unusual incidents and suggest ways to improve procedures

What do you need to succeed in this position?

• Your experience, skillset and qualifications are going to help you succeed in this position, moving forward
• We would like you to:
• University/College degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineer or relative discipline
• 1-2 years' experience in IT support/help desk/system administration
• Flexibility/Availability to work 24/7 shifts/services
• Certifications in Microsoft, Unix, Linux or Cisco will be considered an asset
• Problem-solving attitude with strong organizational and communication skills
• Customer-oriented approach and ability to work under pressure
• Excellent knowledge of English language (written and verbal)
