Job Description
At Ardent Data Centers, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining customer equipment, managing cabling, and troubleshooting issues in a fast-paced 24/7 environment. Duties include rack and stack installations, fiber and coax termination, alarm monitoring, circuit testing, and inventory management, all while following safety protocols and maintaining accurate records.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Responding to customer requests and will perform technical tasks on behalf of customers
* Installs customer equipment in racks (rack and stack)
* Installs cabinets, ladder racks, fiber raceway, and build/install cages
* Runs fiber and coax cross connects, and follows proper termination techniques per company established processes, procedures and policies, installs and tests advanced cross connect circuits (switched, multiplexed, etc.)
* Conducts carrier circuit testing
* Installs cable management/support systems to include vertical wire managers, horizontal wire managers, and patch panels
* You will monitor and respond to alarm notifications
* Maintains detailed written records of all work activity
* Assists with managing systems to avoid unplanned customer-impacting outages
* Responsible for the tracking and proper labeling of all equipment per established procedures
* Performs inventory management
* Ensure processes are completed in a timely manner pertaining to Service Level Agreements (SLA) and data is uploaded to internal systems accordingly
* Navigates and utilizes a CMMS system or other systems
* You may perform other duties as assigned
YOUR REQUIREMENTS:
* Requires a minimum of a high school diploma and 2-4 years of related work experience. A 2-year degree or certification from a related technical training program is highly desirable as a minimum requirement
* Able to read installation drawings (Visio drawings/spreadsheets)
* General knowledge of safe working practices (e.g., familiar with proper tool safety, ppe, standards, eye protection, ladder safety, etc.)
* Ability to logically analyze and solve problems
* Ability to effectively multi-task multiple projects
* Operate Hand and Machine Tools (hammer, drill, saw, etc.)
* Operate electrical tools such as a multi-meter or infrared camera
* Familiar with computer systems and software programs - i.e., MS Word, Excel, MS Outlook
* You are able to perform all essential job functions, including walking, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, lifting and manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation, ability to lift heavy objects of up to 50lbs
* Ability to learn quickly and address issues as they arise in a mission critical 24x7 environment
* Ability to write concise and accurate reports
* Ability to work independently, but as part of a team concept
* Exhibits a strong work ethic and accountability
