Overwatch is seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Manager (Owner’s Representative) to join a large-scale data center construction project in San Jose, California. This is a long-term, onsite opportunity supporting commissioning and MEP coordination efforts on a high-profile hyperscale campus.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in MEP systems commissioning, and experience collaborating with various project stakeholders to ensure quality, compliance, and on-time delivery of all building systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee commissioning and start-up processes for MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, low voltage, and automation.
  • Act as the owner’s representative throughout installation, start-up, FATs, integrated systems testing, and final turnover.
  • Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors, and the client to ensure commissioning milestones are met.
  • Review and manage commissioning-related project documentation.
  • Support VDC coordination efforts and QA/QC processes.
  • Contribute to and execute commissioning plans, testing protocols, and owner training.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in commissioning management and MEP coordination (data center experience highly preferred).
  • Strong understanding of QA/QC practices, FATs, and integrated systems testing.
  • Experience working as or with an Owner’s Representative.
  • Familiarity with VDC coordination tools and commissioning documentation management.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in San Jose, CA (relocation support may be available for the right candidate).

  • Estimated 2–3 years in San Jose
  • Follow-on project opportunities available locally in the Bay Area and nationwide



Overwatch Mission Critical is committed to pay transparency and equity. The anticipated salary range for this position is $180,000 - $215,000 per year, based on experience, skills, and location. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, bonuses, etc.
