Job Description

We are seeking a visionary and experienced Data Center Architect to lead the design and planning of our data center infrastructure, for both expansion projects and optimizations of existing facilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conceiving robust, efficient, secure, and scalable solutions that support the growth and critical needs of our business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop the conceptual and detailed architecture of data centers, including space layout, power systems, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), structured cabling, and physical security.
  • Plan and design high-availability electrical systems, including UPS, generators, and power distribution.
  • Design efficient and redundant HVAC and humidity control systems to ensure an optimal environment for equipment.
  • Specify and select data center infrastructure equipment, such as racks, cabinets, containment systems, and other components.
  • Ensure compliance with data center industry regulations and standards (TIA-942, ISO 27001, etc.).
  • Incorporate energy efficiency and sustainability principles into designs.
  • Consider scalability and flexibility in designs for future expansions and technological adaptations.
  • Collaborate closely with electrical, mechanical, security, IT, and project management teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including plans, specifications, and diagrams.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to optimize data center infrastructure.
  • Participate in capacity planning and the long-term data center strategy.
  • Supervise and provide technical guidance during the construction and commissioning phases.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. A postgraduate degree or specialized certifications in data center design and management (CDCDP, CDCS, etc.) will be valued.
  • Proven experience in the design and planning of data centers of various scales and complexities.
  • Strong knowledge of design principles for power systems, HVAC, structured cabling, physical security, and fire protection in data center environments.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and standards (TIA-942, ISO 27001, etc.).
  • Experience in implementing energy efficiency and sustainability strategies in data centers.
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet established deadlines.
