Role: Data Center Architect Location: Brussels, Belgium Language: English and (French /Dutch B2 Desirable) Experience: 1 to 10 years Description: Carry out capacity planning exercises to determine current and future infrastructure and budget needs, including power, cooling and space considerations. Network infrastructure design: architecture design network and connectivity within the data center. In connection with network/security: switches, routers, firewall and load balancing, network segmentation, VLAN and network security measures for data transfers. Power and cooling management: Design and implement implementing power distribution systems, UPS and backup power solutions to ensure uninterrupted operation of the data center. Plan and optimize refrigeration systems to maintain adequate temperature and humidity levels. Energy efficiency and green initiatives: Identify opportunities to optimize energy consumption and improve data center energy efficiency. Security and compliance: implementation of security measures physical, access controls, surveillance systems and fire suppression systems to protect the data center and its assets. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to data center security and environmental considerations ÿ Disaster recovery and business continuity: Design and implement disaster recovery and business continuity solutions activities to reduce downtime and minimize data loss. Develop and test recovery strategies, backup procedures and replication mechanisms. Management of data center facilities, operations, budget (business case, investments, operational costs) and planning. Coordinate with contractors, vendors and internal teams to ensure successful execution of data center initiatives. Analyze the technical and financial impact of projects on the data center, IT infrastructure and processes. Documentation and reporting: data center design, including architectural diagrams, equipment inventories and operational procedures. Generate reports on data center performance, capacity utilization and future recommendations. Technology Assessment and Selection: Assessment and selection of appropriate technologies, hardware and equipment for the data center, such as servers, storage systems, network devices and backup solutions. Evaluate supplier offers and perform cost-benefit analyzes to determine the most appropriate options. Required Skills: Ensure data center facilities meet the organization's current and future technology requirements, taking into account factors such as scalability, security, reliability and efficiency.
