Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer with 15+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, ideally with advanced knowledge of Snowflake, DBT, Fivetran, Apache Iceberg. As a Data Architect at Tarento Technologies, you will be at the forefront of building robust and scalable data pipelines, optimizing data processing, and providing data solutions that empower our clients to make actionable insights. The ideal candidate brings a deep architectural mindset, hands-on technical leadership, and a strategic approach to enterprise data management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Pipeline Design & Optimization:
- Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines using Snowflake, DBT, Fivetran, Apache Iceberg to ensure seamless data integration, transformation, and delivery.
- Architecture and Strategy:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define data architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and performance across systems and applications. Develop strategies for data management and integration to support business growth.
- Hands-on Development:
- Actively write code to develop and maintain data pipelines. Implement best practices for data transformation, ensuring data accuracy, quality, and consistency across platforms.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Mentor junior engineers, promote a culture of collaboration, and lead by example in hands-on technical execution. Work closely with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders.
- Performance Optimization:
- Monitor and improve the performance of data processes. Identify and resolve issues in data processing workflows, ensuring high availability, data quality, and optimized query performance.
- Proactive Problem Solving:
- Identify potential issues or inefficiencies in data pipelines before they become problems. Continuously review and improve existing data workflows and infrastructure for better performance and scalability.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Translate technical concepts into business-friendly language and communicate effectively with internal teams and clients regarding data-related issues and solutions.
- Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
- Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in data engineering. Innovate and implement new tools and approaches to improve data handling and infrastructure.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in data engineering, with a deep understanding of building scalable and efficient data systems.
- Core Technologies:
- Extensive experience with Snowflake (Data Warehousing), DBT (Data Build Tool), Fivetran (ETL/ELT automation) and Apache Iceberg. Familiarity with other data tools such as Apache Airflow, Apache Kafka, or similar platforms is a plus.
- Hands-On Expertise:
- Strong hands-on coding experience in Python, SQL, or other relevant programming languages. Ability to develop, test, and deploy data pipelines effectively.
- Data Architecture Knowledge:
- Deep knowledge of data architecture principles, data modeling, and the design of complex data workflows. Experience with cloud-based data platforms, specifically Snowflake, and data integration platforms like Fivetran.
- Proactive and Strategic Mindset:
- Ability to think strategically, plan for the future of the data infrastructure, and proactively identify opportunities for optimization or improvement.
- Leadership & Mentoring:
- Ability to lead by example, mentor junior engineers, and foster a collaborative team environment. Experience in guiding teams through the adoption of best practices.
- Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking:
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying issues and driving improvements. Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Communication Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with other cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for data engineering workflows.
- Experience in machine learning pipelines or AI/ML data requirements.
