Job Title: Data Architect

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands (TNDL - Amsterdam)

Role Description:

As a Data Architect, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of the bank's data architecture strategy. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of data systems and solutions aligned with business goals.

Responsibilities:

• Formulate a bank-wide data architecture strategy that aligns with business goals and objectives, ensuring a scalable and sustainable framework.
• Promote and advocate for data lakehouse architecture within the organization and drive its adoption for better data management.
• Define and implement data management KPIs, OKRs, policies, procedures, and standards to ensure consistent and high-quality data across the organization.
• Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models that support the bank's integration, data warehousing, and analytics initiatives.
• Work closely with the central data office and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable and effective technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain key architectural documentation including High-Level Design (HLD), Low-Level Design (LLD), Data Flow Diagrams (DFD), and strategy papers.
• Continuously assess and recommend data management technologies and tools to enhance capabilities and support the bank's data-driven goals.
• Keep up with the latest trends and innovations in data architecture, management, and technologies to bring cutting-edge solutions to the organization.
• Communicate and socialize data governance policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and data privacy standards.
• Optimize and monitor the performance, scalability, and efficiency of the data architecture to ensure it meets organizational and business needs.
• Work with IT, business units, and external partners to ensure alignment between data architecture and business objectives.
• Translate complex data architecture strategies and concepts into simple, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.

Essential Skills:

• Expertise in data architecture strategy development and implementation.
• Strong experience in Data Lakehouse architecture.
• Ability to define data management KPIs, OKRs, and governance policies.
• Proficiency in data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical) for integration, warehousing, and analytics.
• Experience in collaboration with business stakeholders to define and implement data requirements.
• Ability to create and maintain architectural documents such as HLD, LLD, DFD.
• Familiarity with the latest data management tools and technologies.
• Deep understanding of data governance, compliance, and regulatory standards.
• Strong communication skills to present complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Proven track record in optimizing data architecture performance and scalability.

Desirable Skills:

• Knowledge of emerging trends in data architecture and management technologies.
• Experience with cloud-based platforms (especially Microsoft Azure and Databricks).
• Background in developing data-driven solutions in large-scale, enterprise environments.
