The data and reporting analyst, under moderate supervision, performs complex work with minimal decision-making discretion related to compiling data and building data models to support the development and implementation of data analytics and business intelligence platforms. This position performs analyst work in support of existing business intelligence systems and utilizes data to inform district decision-makers about the effectiveness of district initiatives and programs. Employee performs district-level work to carry out Board of Education policies under the direction of the Executive Director of Data Analytics and Research.

Essential Functions
Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
Fulfill data requests received from internal and external stakeholders without errors and develop solutions to automate and streamline how the district provides requested data to stakeholders in ways that improve staff efficiency and maintain data security
Generate accurate and on-time reports that summarize data, analysis, and insights to help inform decision-making
Support the development of data structures, analytic systems, and reporting using programming languages and tools like SQL, Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft PowerApps, and other Microsoft suite tools
Design, develop, and implement data imports, dataflows, and solutions to consume data from various internal and external sources
Support the development of new or improved data-related reporting systems
Assist the research and evaluation team in developing systems and processes for collecting, organizing, and managing data for research and program evaluation
Provide guidance in adhering to quality control processes and protocols to ensure that data are being stored, accessed, queried, analyzed, and reported in accurate and appropriate ways, reflecting best practices in the field
Remain current in the fields of education data and reporting, data visualization, and business intelligence
Participate in professional development focused on acquiring and improving skills and knowledge

Education And Experience
Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, statistics, social sciences, or a related field that emphasizes data analytics required
Experience compiling, manipulating, and analyzing data using SQL required
Experience working for a school district or with educational data preferred
