Job Title: Data Analyst (Financial Operations)

Job Summary: This interdisciplinary position will bridge the gap between our internal compliance and finance departments, ensuring seamless coordination and enhancing the organization’s data-driven decision-making capabilities. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously, collaborating with various operational departments to ensure data quality, and providing valuable business insights through data analysis to leadership.

Location: Raleigh, NC - World Trade Blvd

What You’ll Do

  • Data Analysis: Identify, collect, and analyze data from various sources to provide actionable insights for both compliance and finance departments.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with other departments to gather necessary data and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Reporting: Develop and maintain comprehensive reports and dashboards to track operations metrics and performance indicators.
  • Predictive Modeling: Design and implement predictive models and machine-learning algorithms to enhance data-driven decision-making.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Assist in that documentation/refinement of MPG and its subsidiaries’ policies and controls. Perform compliance monitoring over internal policies and external regulations, identifying potential risks and areas for improvement.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency within the compliance and finance functions.
  • Audit Support: Work closely with external audit teams, providing technical and functional expertise. Facilitate remediation of external audit findings.
  • Controls Assessment: Document, assess, and test financial reporting controls and processes, reporting results and recommendations to leadership.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in data analysis, compliance, finance, audit, or a related field. Prior Manufacturing background is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of data visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, or similar tools. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R).
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to offer disruptive and innovative solutions and present findings to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Audit Knowledge: Familiarity with compliance processes and standards, and experience in gathering evidence and supporting audit teams as required.
  • Machine Learning: Experience with AI and machine-learning algorithms is a plus.

What To Expect In The Workplace

  • Physical Demands: Perform tasks such as carrying, lifting, bending, and standing for long periods. You may need to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 50 pounds occasionally, and up to 25 pounds frequently.
  • Work Environment: Primarily in an office setting.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): You will be required to wear PPE, such as ear protection, eye protection, safety shoes, and a high-visibility vest, as necessary.
  • Frequent Movement: Use of hands, arms, and wrists in controlled movements. Walking between work areas and using electronic devices and office equipment will be part of your day-to-day tasks.
