As a data activation engineer, you will play a crucial role in the MarTech team in our data activation efforts, solving challenges like building user segmentation with behavioral data, uncovering usage patterns, scoring interests and preferences, and modelling the data to be operationalized across connected systems in the tech stack for activation.

This role will be instrumental in creating complex data models with warehouse data, orchestrating data sync with tools like Airflow, utilizing ETL and R-ETL tools like Fivetran and Hightouch, and doing data transformation to activate data in user engagement tools like Braze as well as ad targeting platforms like Google Ad Manager, Facebook Ads etc. The impact of this role will directly translate to unlocking the next level of user level targeting and personalization across channels helping us craft relevant user experience & drive conversions.

You will have the chance to work collaboratively with the life-cycle management teams, marketing teams as well as various engineering and product teams across multiple markets and PG businesses in SEA where PropertyGuru group operates in, providing a hands-on opportunity to see how consumers, customers and teams across markets interact with our products and businesses. As a Guru You Will Be Accountable For

Data Modelling: Architect and develop sophisticated data models that uncover behavioral and usage patterns in consumer behavior. Perform complex data transformations that combine data from diverse systems to create business intelligence and result in targetable use-segments for predictive and next-best actions.

Develop advanced clustering algorithms to identify unique consumer segments. Optimize existing models to improve accuracy & performance and maintain a robust data dictionary and metadata repository.

Data Pipeline Architecture: Create and oversee activation data pipelines, including both ETL and reverse ETL operations, to optimize data flow and accessibility. Lead initiatives for full-scale automation of data generation, storage, processing and generating insightful output. Develop and maintain data ingestion scripts in Python, particularly for ingestion pipelines utilizing Airflow DAGs, and ETL/R-ETL tools like Hightouch and FiveTran.

Business Acumen: Develop a thorough understanding of our product and business to work on and enhance existing segmentation modelling processes (e.g. User Intent, Engagement, Conversion, Retention, Churn etc). Use analytics techniques like RFM (Recency, Frequency, Monetary) analysis and Purchase latency/Order gap analysis to model data for segmentation.

Big Data Technologies

Experience with big data platforms and tools for processing large-scale consumer data.

Familiarity with cloud computing environments for data storage and analysis especially working with large datasets in data-warehouse.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and communicate complex data insights effectively to relevant stakeholders from LCM, Marketing, Product and other business teams.

Functional Ownership: Own the data engineering function in the team and provide training and mentorship in data engineering and warehousing to marketing automation and data analytics members of the team.

We're Looking For Someone Who

  • Advanced SQL knowledge: Familiarity with modelling complex data in SQL for different segmentation models like demographic, psychographic, and behavioural segmentation.
  • Perform complex data transformations: Ability to work with large datasets and perform complex data transformations that unlock data activation in user-engagement platforms like Braze and Ad-platforms like Google Ad-manager.
  • CDP and cloud data experience: Hands-on experience with customer data platforms, like Segment.io, to effectively leverage 1st party user interaction and behavioural data.
  • Programming and data orchestration: Proficient in writing and debugging Python scripts, with experience in automating data ingestion tasks using Airflow or similar tools.
  • ETL/R-ETL Process Familiarity: Solid understanding of data pipeline construction and maintenance, with experience in both traditional ETL and reverse ETL processes.
  • Good understanding and completion of projects using waterfall/Agile methodology
  • Good understanding of analytics and data warehouse implementation and management concepts
