The Cyber Security Platform Engineer develops, manages and maintain enterprise Identity & Access Governance security platforms, ensuring controls are fully deployed and running at maximum efficiency. Through the delivery of new capabilities and process improvements through integration, automation and orchestration, you will act as a subject matter expert on security platforms and implement programs to maximise the value of deployed security solutions. You will work to understand Identity & Access across internal systems and platforms and proactively identify control gaps; recommending new capabilities and features through continuous review to reduce overall risk. Helping to build security posture baselines and monitor performance compliance, you will be able to provide data points through visualisation, evidencing improvements of platform hygiene.
Key Accountabilities
- Escalation point for platform control issues, provide ongoing 2nd/3rd Line platform support.
- Responsible for Performing troubleshooting, providing resolution or remediation recommendations.
- Acting as platform incident responders, aligning with Cyber Security Incident Response Team
- Create and execute platform Testing & Deployment Standards and Procedures
- Coordination of maintenance, manging communication and change management.
- Collaborate with Technical Operation Teams to deploy security controls and ensure they are configured correctly (Right First Time)
- Identifying gaps in our controls and performing ongoing platform hygiene.
- Ensure business critical security telemetry data is collected and parsed to central data management system (SIEM).
- Collaborate with other security functions to develop and build workflows, monitoring and alerting use cases, playbooks and analytics.
- Develop and build reports and alerts that highlight variations from good baselined posture
- Identify opportunities to simplify and improve processes and workflows through automation and orchestration.
- Perform new feature exploration and maintain understanding of vendors future roadmaps
- Collaborate with architecture peers to review project requirements, and recommend appropriate platform solutions
- Perform data standardisation and quality assurance, ensure platform data integrity by analysing and monitoring performance
- Support information security programs and align configurations to required standards.
- Lead on the efforts to document platform controls and configuration
- Work cooperatively with internal stakeholders to understand and clarify reporting needs.
- Manage the transition of new features, capabilities or changes to Cyber Operations BAU. Providing upskilling and knowledge sharing sessions
Skillsets and requirements needed:
- Experience with Security Identity Governance platforms (OKTA OIG, VEZA).
- Proficient in coding languages and working with APIs
- Possess excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Possess a high level of capabilities in research and data collation
- Able to handle multiple deadlines, and to effectively perform during high pressure or stressful situations.
- Experience producing security documentation and other technical analysis reports
- Collaborative and team-oriented approach to working.
