The Role:

We are looking for a seasoned Customer Business Development Manager to lead commercial strategy and execution for major convenience retail chains in Japan. You will develop mid-to-long-term business strategies, negotiate at the top management level, and manage a team of 5+ professionals while collaborating across cross-functional teams to drive performance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead annual and long-term planning (LRP/OB/Annual Game Plan) for key accounts.
  • Negotiate with senior stakeholders at major convenience store HQs to secure competitive business agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Marketing, CP, RRP) to align and execute strategic priorities.
  • Serve as a voice of the market, sharing key insights internally and identifying new opportunities.
  • Manage and coach a high-performing team; foster a culture of growth, ownership, and excellence.


Who We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of people management experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in Key Account Management in FMCG.
  • Strong knowledge of sales planning, trade marketing, and retail channel dynamics.
  • Excellent communication skills in Japanese (native) and English (business fluent).
  • Individuals with a global mindset and familiarity with both Japanese business culture and international best practices.
  • Experience with large convenience store chains or similar modern trade accounts is highly desirable.

  • Total Compensation: ¥20M/year (based on 15 months salary structure) + up to 18% annual incentive.
