Job Summary
The
Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine (SFESOM) Curriculum team is seeking three managers, one to support each of the three phases of the medical education curriculum. More details on each of the phases are

The phase manager position involves serving as a key contact and resource for phase and course directors, providing essential administrative and logistical support, and facilitating effective communication among faculty, staff, and students. The manager will oversee the creation of yearly academic calendars, coordinate room scheduling, and manage exam administration and longitudinal courses. Responsibilities also include some supervisory obligations, organizing curriculum subcommittee meetings, maintaining curriculum maps, and supporting continuous program improvement and supporting the development of parallel programs at branch campuses. This role is integral to ensuring the smooth operation and continuous enhancement of the SFESOM MD Program.

- Support for Phase and Course Directors:
- Serve as a contact and resource for phase directors.
- Provide administrative and logistical support to ensure the smooth operation of phase courses.
- Facilitate communication about phase between faculty, staff, and students to ensure effective course delivery.
- Create phase yearly Academic Calendar
- Oversee all aspects of the phase Assessments process, including tracking, scheduling, and maintaining student and faculty communication.
- Oversee the aspects of phase courses, collaborating with relevant faculty and staff, planning, implementing, and improving the course.
- Ensure the repeat assessment Canvas course is up to date and accessible for students and faculty.
- Coordinate room scheduling for the phase courses, ensuring that facilities are appropriately reserved and equipped for each session.
- Work closely with students to coordinate assessment retakes and ensure they have the necessary resources and support.
- Address any scheduling conflicts or issues that may arise, ensuring minimal disruption to the curriculum.
- Supervises work of staff members; hires, evaluates, and trains staff members; approves staff time entries and leave requests; advises and directs day-to-day functions of staff; provides backup to staff as needed.
- Coordinate room scheduling for all phase courses, ensuring that facilities are appropriately reserved and equipped for each session.
- Address any scheduling conflicts or issues that may arise, ensuring minimal disruption to the curriculum.
- Assist in the administration of student exams for phase courses.
- Oversee the proctoring of final exams for all phase courses, ensuring adherence to exam policies and maintaining a fair testing environment.
- Address any issues or concerns that arise during the exam process, providing support as needed.
- Organize and manage the phase Curriculum Meeting, ensuring all relevant stakeholders are invited and prepared.
- Take meeting minutes, track action items, and follow up on tasks as needed.
- Ensure that curriculum-related discussions are effectively documented and that decisions are clearly communicated to all involved parties.
- Maintain and update the curriculum map for phase courses, ensuring that all relevant data (e.g., program objectives, course objectives, session objectives, and session modalities) is current and accurate.
- Assist in the collection and analysis of curriculum data as requested by leadership to ensure continuous improvement of the program.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related area plus three years of experience in budget, grant and program management or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required. Develops and implements program ideas into successful academic and research programs; demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required.

Preferences
An incumbent who demonstrates exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Demonstration should be rendered with advanced skills in Microsoft Office Products, database management, spreadsheets and document storage, and retrieval systems.

Work Schedule Summary: Monday – Friday, business hours. Hybrid work arrangements are available. This position is located at 27 S Mario Capecchi Dr. Salt Lake City, UT 84113 and is expected to begin no sooner than July 1, 2025.
