Job Title: Work-Based Learning Teacher Division: Curriculum and Instruction CPI Code: 124 Salary Schedule: Teacher Salary Scale Eff Date: 3/10/25 FSLA: Exempt Reports to: Director of CTAE Supervises: Students Work Days: 190 Qualifications: Holds a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning. Valid State of Georgia certification Minimum of three years as a successful classroom teacher Three years of experience as a CTAE teacher or commit to completing the WBL Endorsement (RESA) within 2 years. Performance Duties & Responsibilities: Facilitate the Troup County School System's work-based learning program at the assigned high school and connect students with meaningful career experiences, equipping them with essential workplace skills and industry knowledge. Build and maintain strong partnerships with local businesses to create job, internship, and apprenticeship opportunities that align with students' career pathways. Ensure compliance with Fair Labor Standards Act and educational regulations while tracking student progress and program effectiveness. Collaborate with CTAE teachers and the CTAE Supervisor to support and enhance Work-Based Learning initiatives. Encourage students to complete career pathways and actively participate in Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) and recruit students for WBL positions that align with their chosen career pathways. Assist CTAE Supervisors in ordering and administering End of Pathway Assessments. Promote career awareness by engaging with middle and elementary schools. Ensure students develop essential workplace (soft) skills, including professionalism, communication, and problem-solving. Support the planning and execution of CTAE awareness and recognition events. Assist the Director of CTAE in marketing the Troup County CTAE program. Develop and maintain partnerships with local industries to create WBL opportunities for students. Work with advisory committees to align WBL programs with workforce needs. Attend regional WBL meetings and the GACTE summer conference for professional development and networking. Maintain accurate and organized records of WBL students and industry partners. Ensure timely and consistent CNET data entries for program tracking and compliance. Work with Registrars and CTAE Supervisors to develop a master schedule that facilitates pathway completion. Generate accurate course numbers using the Georgia Work Based Learning Manual for all WBL students for Registrars to enter into the system. Support CTAE initiatives and events district-wide. Conduct monthly meetings with WBL students, providing career-related lessons and assignments. Collaborate with school counselors to review YouScience reports and guide students toward suitable career pathways. Complete worksite visits for all WBL students each semester. Provide guidance and support to WBL students are the Troup County Career Center one day per week. Other duties assigned by the CTAE Director Other Functions: Daily attendance and punctuality are required to ensure the goals of the work unit are met. Working Environment: The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. Generally, the job requires 65% walking/standing, 25% sitting and 10% lifting/carrying.
