We are looking for an experienced and proactive Credit Controller (m/f/x) in Almere to join our Finance team in Almere. In this key role, you will manage credit risk and accounts receivable for clients across the Benelux region. You'll contribute to optimizing cash flow, minimizing outstanding receivables, and supporting business operations through sound credit decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Credit Risk Management

• Assess and monitor creditworthiness of customers within company guidelines
• Optimize the use of credit insurance to minimize financial exposure
• Grant credit limits and provide advice to Sales on appropriate payment terms
• Implement credit holds when necessary and ensure their controlled release

Accounts Receivable Management

• Monitor and manage outstanding customer balances
• Initiate collections through phone, email, and formal reminders
• Negotiate and implement payment arrangements within defined guidelines
• Liaise with external collection partners and legal representatives for overdue accounts
• Manage bankruptcy filings, claims, and retention of title procedures

Administration

• Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies
• Perform general accounting tasks and credit memos when necessary
• Monitor daily incoming payments and track any reversals
• Provide regular reporting on receivables to management

Collaboration & Communication

• Act as a financial partner to the Sales team, advising on credit status and risk exposure
• Participate in regular debtor meetings
• May support the broader Benelux Credit team when needed

Requirements

• Proven experience in credit control and debt collection
• Strong knowledge of financial reports, balance sheets, and collection procedures
• Familiarity with SAP and Microsoft Office tools
• Thorough understanding of legal aspects of debt recovery
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Fluent in Dutch and French (mandatory), with a good command of English

Offer

• Location: Almere, Netherlands (Hybrid - minimum 2 days remote work)
• Salary: €3,500 - €4,500 gross/month (based on 40 hours, depending on experience)
