Position Overview:

We are looking for a talented Credit & Collections Specialist to join our team. This individual will work closely with the Division Credit Manager in Tampa, FL, to manage a large portfolio of commercial accounts. The role is critical in safeguarding company assets through proactive credit risk assessment and effective collections. This position also involves overseeing the daily operations of the credit office while building strong partnerships with both customers and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and lead all collection activities for assigned locations; develop and execute strategies for resolving past-due accounts.
• Establish strong credit security positions using tools such as lien and bond rights, UCC filings, Letters-of-Credit, and personal guarantees.
• Approve and set up new construction job accounts with a focus on minimizing risk.
• Evaluate creditworthiness of new and existing customers using financial analysis, trade references, and available collateral.
• Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts receivable reports to management.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and local branch teams through regular face-to-face interaction.
• Oversee recovery efforts on delinquent and bad debt accounts.
• Monitor credit limits and communicate relevant updates to sales and branch managers.
• Respond to credit-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in commercial credit and collections; experience in the construction or distribution industry is a plus.
• Prior supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
