Summary

The Credit Analyst II is responsible for analyzing / underwriting new and existing loans and annual loan reviews through analysis of borrower’s credit history and financial performance as well as supporting the compliance and credit administration requirements of the Commercial Credit Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Obtains loan request information from Commercial Lenders to prepare cash flow analysis, analyze credit information, financial statements, tax returns and other related information pertaining to loan requests.
  • Reviews loan documentation personal and business financial statements, and tax returns. Analyzes financial information and communicates with the Commercial Lenders throughout the process.
  • Prepares written analysis, spreadsheets, strengths and risks analysis for each loan request.
  • Assists Commercial Lenders in the gathering of borrower/guarantor/third party vendor information, and other pertinent application information to analyze the loan request.
  • Ensures that deviations from policy are identified, reported and mitigated.
  • Presents final written loan analysis to both the Commercial Lender and/or Business Development Officer and SVP/Senior Credit Officer for final review and approval.
  • Develop and maintain trusted, positive relationships with bank’s team members, clients and vendors by providing extraordinary service.
  • Complete job assignments in a professional, timely and efficient manner; organize and prioritize work.
  • Works with the SVP Senior Credit Officer or other Credit Department team members on special projects as assigned.
  • Expected to work with a fair degree of independence in successfully managing and completing assigned workflow and tasks.
  • Perform additional job duties as assigned.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Knowledge of commercial real estate, commercial & industrial, and construction underwriting, experience in SBA lending a plus.
  • Credit risk assessment skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong knowledge of relevant computer software skills, such as Word and Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Basic understanding of Accounting.


JOB TYPE: Full-time

Experience

  • Work experience within a commercial or community bank: 2 years minimum (required).
  • 2-4 years previous commercial loan and underwriting experience, or comparable work experience, in a commercial bank.


EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics or Finance preferred.


Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands, use fingers, talk, hear and remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time. The employee is required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms. The employee must have the ability to verbally effectively communicate with staff and customers. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must have the ability to stay alert and attentive at all times and operate a computer, phone and essential equipment as required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
