Summary

Leading Development Finance Institution seeking a Credit Analyst to join their small team in Singapore.


Key Responsibilities

  • Independent analysis of credit risks pertaining to pipeline and portfolio transactions, based on deal-related materials, independent research, and interactions with the Investment Team and the clients.
  • Quality control of all credit applications, whether they be to the Credit or Portfolio Committees.
  • Work with the Investment Team and other teams on the seamless transition of a transaction through the process of credit application, living term sheet, and ultimately into documentation.
  • Analyse historical financial statements, scrutinise financial models received from the borrowers or deal advisors and run model sensitivities.
  • Write credit notes to senior management outlining the credit risks associated with a specific transaction.
  • Contribute ideas and opinions on transaction-specific matters like structural enhancements and financial covenants. Additionally, review and draft sections of deal documentation.
  • Work with the Finance Team and the wider Group Risk Team in reviewing and maintaining the expected credit loss models, predominantly the Probability of Default and Loss Given Default scorecards, being recognised as the company’s expert in this respect.
  • Work with Investment and Finance departments to enhance the credit portfolio reporting.


Skills/ Experience Required

Must Have

· Credit risk assessment experience acquired through work at a DFI, bank, rating agency, consulting firm, or similar institution.

· Strong financial analysis skills. (modelling)

· Experience of working in frontier/developing markets

· Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly skilled in Microsoft Excel with a focus on financial modelling.

· Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

· Educated to undergraduate degree level or equivalent.

· Proactive, able to work independently and take ownership of and complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner.

· Team player but able to work self-sufficiently.

· Cultural awareness.

· Passion for development impact.


Nice to have

· Understanding of structured / project finance transactions / NBFI transactions

· Ability to demonstrate understanding of lending and fixed income products.

· Familiarity with guarantees and similar products from Export Credit Agencies, multilateral and bilateral development institutions, monoline insurers etc.


Base Salary: SGD 120,000 - 140,000
