Credentialing Associate - Medical Billing Department
We are currently seeking a dedicated Credentialing Associate to join our dynamic Medical Billing Department.
Position Overview:
The Credentialing Associate plays a vital role in ensuring that all healthcare providers within our client network are properly credentialed with insurance companies and other payers. This position involves verifying and maintaining provider credentials to facilitate timely and accurate reimbursement for services rendered.
Key Responsibilities:
· Process credentialing applications for healthcare providers.
· Verify the accuracy and completeness of credentialing documents, including licenses, certifications, malpractice insurance, and DEA registrations.
· Conduct primary source verification of credentials by contacting licensing boards, educational institutions, and other relevant organizations.
· Maintain credentialing databases and electronic records, ensuring compliance with payer requirements and accreditation standards.
· Monitor and track the expiration dates of provider credentials and initiate the renewal process in a timely manner.
· Communicate with insurance companies and other payers to facilitate the credentialing process and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
· Collaborate with internal departments, such as Provider Relations and Billing, to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.
· Assist healthcare providers with the enrollment process for new payer contracts and update existing contracts as needed.
· Stay informed about changes in credentialing requirements, regulations, and best practices, and implement updates accordingly.
· Provide support and guidance to healthcare providers regarding credentialing status and requirements.
Qualifications:
· Previous experience in healthcare credentialing, preferably in a medical billing environment.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing and verifying credentialing documents.
· Proficiency in using credentialing software and databases.
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with healthcare providers and payers.
· Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work independently with minimal supervision.
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
