We are an experiential design/build firm specializing in brand experiences, social & corporate events, and some commercial/residential interiors. We are seeking a Creative Operations Manager with extensive experience to lead and optimize processes within our creative team and effectively coordinate with other departments, ensuring high-quality client experiences while driving efficiency and innovation (please check out our Instagram for reference: @socialsupplydesign).
The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with proven leadership skills, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to strategically manage creative workflows and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time salaried in-person position located at our headquarters in Upper Marlboro, MD.
Skills and Qualifications
• Minimum 7 years of experience in operations management, project management, event design, event planning, or related roles in event production or a similar industry.
• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to mentor and support creative teams.
• Expertise in optimizing workflows, managing creative resources, and driving operational efficiency.
• Exceptional ability to manage timelines, budgets, and deliverables for multiple high-profile creative projects.
• Highly detail-oriented, with a strong focus on precision and accountability.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate challenges and implement proactive solutions.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Familiarity with event design processes, event installations, event planning, and production techniques is strongly preferred.
Job Duties
• Lead and oversee creative operations, optimizing workflows and processes to enhance team efficiency and project quality.
• Manage and mentor creative team members, fostering professional growth and maintaining high-performance standards.
• Oversee the development and execution of project operations, ensuring alignment with client goals and brand standards.
• Monitor project milestones and deliverables, maintaining clear communication across departments to keep everyone aligned.
• Track and manage resources, ensuring the creative team has the tools and support needed to succeed.
• Act as a key liaison and collaborate with departments outside of design (production, warehouse, rentals, installation, and accounting)
• Coordinate with vendors to maintain quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Oversee project related procurement
• Conduct regular reviews of creative processes and provide strategic insights for operational improvements.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Operations, Design Management, or a related field is preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in operations or a related role.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to thrive in high-pressure situations.
• Familiarity with design trends, event production, and fabrication processes.
• Must have reliable transportation and a valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Ability to support the company's operation during peak seasons (Spring and Fall) which will require availability outside of standard hours.
Compensation
Salary for this Creative Operations Manager position ranges from $90,000–$115,000/year, depending on experience, with additional opportunities for significant performance-based bonuses.
