Reporting to the Regional Director, the Country Manager will ensure strong leadership of Country facilities within the designated region, building team spirit, cohesion, motivation, commitment, quality performance and fulfilment across all functions. This role will work in partnership with other Regional Directors in Europe ensuring a one Company approach. The postholder is directly responsible for revenue, margin and EBITDA achievement and the overall strategic planning, leadership of support operations (security, HR, procurement, logistics).

The Country Manager will continually assess, identify and address gaps and weaknesses to improve overall country performance, efficiency, and effectiveness.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

• Lead the process of developing medium and long-range country strategic plans maintaining focus on objectives and core sectors.
• Grow the Countries within the Region ensuring revenue, margin and EBITDA remain on target and devise growth and remedial programmes in line with budget.
• Actively identify and pro-actively pursue new opportunities for growth, in coordination with relevant country, regional and group resources.
• Assess other group activities to identify geographic or sector gaps and to address these areas.
• Responsible for ultimate leadership and management of all in country employees (25 people).
• Assess staffing requirements for specific contracts and country office and supervise recruitment in coordination with line managers and Group People and HR function.
• Assess staff training and capacity building needs and ensure training opportunities are provided.
• Ensure that all HR personnel practices, contracts, taxes, compensation, registrations, residence permits, and departures are in accordance with local laws and Group policies.
• Strictly enforce compliance of all safety and security policies and procedures by all staff members.
• Supervise the Country Finance Manager and ensure, through close collaboration that all statutory and Group reporting is met.
• Ensure timely and appropriate country level budget preparation and monitoring.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as General Manager, Country Manager or other managerial position (i.e. Country Sales Director, Branch Manager).
• Experience in the Food Industry or Food Packaging IndustryExperience is dealing with Food Retailers, especially large (national and international) Supermarket retail chainsDemonstrable experience in developing strategic and business plans
• Deep knowledge of market changes and forces that influence the company
• Strong understanding of corporate finance and measures of performance
• Familiarity with corporate law and management best practices
• Understanding of Six Sigma / Lean and Continuous Improvement an advantage
• Strong presentation skills.
