Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Senior Cost Estimator to join the team at their Schiedam office.
As a Cost Estimator, you will play a critical role in supporting industrial investment
projects from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide independent and reliable cost estimates during various phases of design projects.
• Work within the national Cost Engineering department, supporting all offices across the Netherlands.
• Conceptually assess and calculate total investment costs for client projects.
• Advise and prepare reports that guide critical investment decisions across multiple projects.
• Develop budget estimates, cost estimates, review designs and cost breakdowns, perform second opinions, and collect data to enhance our knowledge base.
• Lead "pit stop sessions" with clients, comparing conceptual ideas based on costs and determining the optimal approach.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to develop detailed designs and calculate solution costs.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a multidisciplinary project environment with proven expertise in preparing budgets and CAPEX estimates.
• Completed technical HBO degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Technology, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Technical Business Administration.
• Several years of relevant experience across various industries and a desire to advance your career.
• Knowledge of engineering processes involving multiple disciplines and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.
• Willingness to support colleagues nationwide.
• Detail-oriented yet able to maintain a big-picture perspective, with strong conceptual thinking skills.
• Confident decision-maker with a strong personality, while being a collaborative team player capable of zooming in and out of complex matters
