Cost Accounting Manager

Plano, TX - hybrid, 3 days onsite

Compensation: $135-145K + Bonus

One of Vaco's fast-growing international partners is looking to onboard a Cost Accounting Manager for their local Dallas office to help scale their team. This role will oversee cost accounting and fiscal close for 3 plants - bill of materials, raw materials, margin and SKU analysis, CapEx and inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the cost accounting function.
• Develop and maintain standard costs of products and services.
• Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes related to inventory valuation and cost of goods sold (COGS).
• Prepare detailed cost analysis reports for management to support pricing, budgeting, and investment decisions.
• Work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and procurement to improve cost control.
• Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cost accounting.
• Assist in the development of inventory policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
• Coordinate annual physical inventories and cycle counts.
• Participate in ERP system upgrades or implementations as related to inventory and costing modules.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
• 5+ years of cost accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Proven experience in a manufacturing or production-based environment.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, GAAP, and inventory systems.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
