Description

We are looking for a meticulous and analytical Cost Accountant to join our team in Carrollton, Texas. This role is vital in ensuring accurate cost tracking and allocation, particularly concerning tariff-related expenses, while supporting dynamic pricing models and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain precise cost data and contribute to profitability optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct standard cost accounting tasks, including variance analysis, inventory valuation, and month-end close processes.
  • Analyze the financial impact of tariffs on raw materials, components, and inbound logistics in partnership with supply chain and procurement teams.
  • Ensure accurate allocation of tariff-related costs to finished goods by maintaining landed cost data.
  • Support the cost roll-up process from raw materials to finished products, factoring in vendor and tariff fluctuations.
  • Develop financial models to assess the effect of tariff changes on profitability and margins.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to build and maintain pricing models that incorporate tariff costs into customer pricing strategies.
  • Evaluate product and customer profitability to recommend optimized pricing strategies.
  • Assist in preparing budgets, updating standard costs, and forecasting supply chain-related expenses.
  • Work closely with various departments, including operations, procurement, and logistics, to provide accurate and actionable cost data.
  • Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • A minimum of 4 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in cost accounting principles, inventory accounting, and variance analysis.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting or inventory software systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and utilize pricing or cost models for strategic initiatives.
  • Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • CPA or CMA certification is preferred but not required.
