A high-growth, PE-backed services business is expanding its leadership team to support rapid scale and operational maturity. This organization operates in a multi-entity environment with both acquisitive and organic growth channels and is on track to significantly increase its market share over the next several years. With backing from a prominent private equity sponsor, this company is focused on building out best-in-class infrastructure across finance, operations, and technology.


Purpose Of Your Position:

The Corporate Controller will report directly to the CFO and serve as the lead for all core accounting operations, overseeing a team responsible for GL management, reporting, and compliance. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on developing scalable processes, driving accurate reporting, and enhancing cross-functional collaboration across finance, HR, legal, and IT. The Controller will also play a key role in supporting strategic initiatives such as acquisitions and capital structure optimization.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day accounting operations including GL oversight, payroll accounting, billing, payables, receivables, and month-end close.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in alignment with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive the design and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard data integrity and financial processes.
  • Serve as the key contact for external audit activities, overseeing audit readiness and coordination.
  • Collaborate with the CFO and FP&A leadership to support monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes.
  • Participate in board-level financial discussions, providing clarity on key trends and operational performance.
  • Manage state and local tax reporting and filings in partnership with third-party advisors and internal staff.
  • Support forecasting, working capital planning, and covenant compliance under current credit facilities.
  • Contribute to the integration of acquired entities and alignment of financial processes post-transaction.
  • Serve as a partner to internal stakeholders, providing education and support on accounting-related matters.
  • Maintain a proactive and adaptive approach to special projects and ad-hoc reporting requirements.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • CPA required; MBA preferred


Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of accounting leadership experience, ideally within a services or project-based business - manufacturing, construction services, etc - understanding of WIP/ % completion
  • Exposure to private equity ownership structures and performance expectations
  • Strong background in M&A accounting and post-close integration efforts
  • Familiarity with banking relationships and covenant compliance reporting
  • Proficiency in enterprise accounting software such as MS Dynamics, NetSuite, or similar platforms
  • Expertise in full-cycle accounting including payroll, GL, tax, and financial statement prep
  • Ability to lead and mentor teams through periods of transformation and growth
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional stakeholders
  • High level of integrity, ownership mentality, and operational rigor
