Brief Description

The Corporate Accounting Manager is responsible for leading various accounting and ledger tasks necessary to ensure complete, accurate and timely general ledger activity and trial balances are available to business users. Helps create and administer approved accounting policies, procedures, and controls throughout the organization to achieve a less than ten (10) business-day month-end close.

OVERALL ROLE & RESPONSIBILITY:

Coach & develop a team of ledger and accounting professionals including remote resources

Hands-on-leader of the financial close and global corporate consolidation

Responsible for all journal entries and supporting account analysis and reconciliations

Reports to VP Finance

ESSENTIAL TASKS:

  • Coach & develop a team of six plus ledger and accounting professionals including remote resources
  • Lead financial close and global corporate consolidation (Multiple legal entities, currencies and statutory/US GAAP ledgers)
  • Ensure controls are in place, general ledger accounts are reconciled on a periodic basis and that overall data and system integrity is maintained to GAAP standards and Company policies
  • Develop scalable processes and support efforts to consistently achieve a less than ten (10) business-day month-end close
  • Perform full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: coaching & developing; planning, assigning & directing work; and performance management
  • Partner with Revenue Operations and Billing functions to ensure proper ASC 606 revenue recognition and indirect tax compliance (Sales & Use, GST, VAT)
  • Support financial planning & analysis team including annual budget process and monthly variance analysis
  • Support US GAAP interim and annual reporting including oversight for technical research and conclusions on complex accounting such as ASC 606, Revenue from Contracts with Customers
  • Assist with integration of acquired businesses including ASC 805, Business Combinations

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE:

  • Bachelor degree in accounting.
  • Certified Public Accounting (CPA) License and strong understanding of US GAAP and familiarity with IFRS.
  • 6 – 15 years of professional experience in accounting; preferably including 2-3 years with Audit practice of a CPA firm.
  • Experience managing corporate consolidation function for multiple legal entities.
  • Experience managing teams of six plus including virtual environment.
  • A positive attitude and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • An attention to detail and ability to accurately record business transactions.
  • Reliability and self-motivation to perform the job in a timely fashion.
