Writer with 2+ years or relevant experience needed for a full-time, hybrid role in Providence. Looking for someone with a technical writing or journalism background. Salary is 60-65K with some flex up to 70K for the right background/experience. Will be working exclusively on reports and monthly newsletters. Must have outstanding writing and editing skills. Dog friendly office environment so you don’t need to leave Fido at home.

This is a great job for someone who has worked as a print reporter, technical writer, or copy editor. The writing is for reports and the work is similar to the writing a journalist does and is part technical writing. It does not involve social media, web content, PR, or marketing writing. The subject matter is technical and detailed. No direct industry experience is required, but you must be professional writer or demonstrate an aptitude for writing. An ability to learn new subjects, adapt to style and voice, and work in collaboration with other disciplines is important.

Responsibilities

• Research and write assigned sections and/or reports in consultation with senior writer.
• Review/edit reports for grammar, style, accuracy, and consistency.
• Copy edit the company publication.
• Present work in a clear, concise, and professional manner.

Requirements

• College degree, with emphasis in journalism, business or technical writing and 2+ years’ experience in technical writing or journalism.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Microsoft Publisher and layout experience is a plus.
• Strong comprehension of general business terms and concepts.
• Deadline oriented, able to allocate time efficiently, balance shifting priorities with attention to deadlines and productivity.
