Summary



  • Position Summary
    • Conducts reviews of the appropriate patient medical records to retrieve data in accordance with the established quality assessment criteria of the medical staff and hospital departments and compiles the findings for reporting, monitoring and evaluating purposes. Supports coordination of the Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) process for the Medical Staff Credentials Committee. Coordinates data abstraction and data entry for the Vermont Oxford Network (VON) NICU database.
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • Work Experience
      • Three years of recent clinical Registered Nurse experience in a hospital setting.
      • Previous Quality Management experience preferred.
    • Education
      • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing required.
      • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
    • Certifications/Licensure
      • Kentucky RN license (OR) RN license in a State recognized by the Kentucky Nurse Licensure Compact Act required effective June 1, 2007.

      • Collects and records assessment data from patients’ medical records and pertinent hospital records that contain necessary information.
      • Coordinates data abstraction and data entry to ensure all eligible (NICU) births are accurately abstracted and reported to the Vermont Oxford Network (VON) NICU database. Ensures that data abstraction follows the manual of operations for each calendar year and data entry is timely and within the established timelines.
      • Accurately enters information at computer workstation, in appropriate hospital computer system software.
      • Maintains written logs for data collection, and daily discharge logs.
      • Prepares reports for review and analysis by the appropriate medical and hospital department committees.
      • Supports the Senior QRM Assistant in coordinating the Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) process for the Medical Staff Credentials Committee.
      • Assists in providing consultation and information to medical and hospital staff regarding monitoring requirements of the Quality Resource Management Program.
