Position Summary: The coordinator of student success/instructor works in collaboration with College of Education and Health administrators, faculty, and staff to oversee efforts of college and program marketing, recruitment, and retention and works specifically within the Department of Teaching and Educational Leadership in advising and instruction. This twelve-month position involves 60% staff duties and 40% instructional duties during the school year. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Work in partnership with the College of Education and Health faculty, staff, and administration to develop marketing plan(s) and increase opportunities for outreach and communication with state, regional, and national partners and potential partners. Manage College of Education and Health social media operations. Develop opportunities for and engaging students in campus life within the College of Education and Health and beyond the College of Education and Health. Fulfill College of Education and Health recruitment and retention duties. Provide additional instructional capacity for the Teaching and Educational Leadership department. Assist with Teaching and Educational Leadership advising and student enrollment efforts. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Understanding of the knowledge, skills, and dispositions expected of today's education professionals. Ability to model a variety of essential teacher education behaviors including organization, effective communication skills. Evidence of effective teamwork, strong analytical skills, and collegiality. Understanding of how to recruit, retain, and work with students from various backgrounds. Minimum Requirements: Requirements include a master's degree in education (or closely related field). At least two years of U.S. school experience as a teacher of record. Ability to organize and meet deadlines. Ability to use electronic databases and a variety of processing and communication tools and technologies. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the use of social media tools. Experience in working with university and public-school students. Evidence of communication and organizational skills. Expertise in the use of technology. Evidence of or potential for fostering an engaging and beneficial environment for students of various backgrounds. Experience in university teaching. Evidence of an ability or clear potential to recruit, engage, and work with students from a variety of backgrounds. Evidence of an ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders. Work Location, Environment, and Physical Demands: Located on campus of Arkansas Tech University, Russellville in the Crabaugh Building. Employee will be provided a computer, phone, and office. Travel will be necessary, particularly for recruiting and to increase partnerships with various schools, organizations, and professional entities.
