As a software Engineer, you will be responsible for the development, maintenance and troubleshooting of Rockwell PLC, HMI and motion control software.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Controls Technician is responsible for the development, maintenance and troubleshooting of Rockwell PLC, HMI and motion control software.
  • Responsible for the development, maintenance and troubleshooting of Rockwell PLC, HMI and Motion Control Software
  • Responsible for in house testing of developed Rockwell PLC/HMI software
  • Responsible for software modifications at customer sites as required
  • Responsible for software documentation.
  • Work closely with Sales, Engineering, Shop and Customer service
  • Control Panel design a definite asset.
  • Possible 50-60% travel

Education:

  • Technical School or equivalent work experience, PLC programming, Electronics Troubleshooting, Industrial Process Controls

Skills

  • 5 plus years of experience with Software / Hardware Troubleshooting required
  • Knowledge of EPlan. Create new drawings and update existing.
  • Experience in back panel building.
  • Knowledge of PLC Programming, in particular and Allen-Bradley.
  • Motion control and higher level programming, e.g. Visual Basic a Plus.
  • Experience in developing software projects and customized software solutions.
  • Experience in fault diagnostics in PLC programming on machines.
  • Familiar with Industrial process equipment, particularly Food Processing
  • B&R programming, (Bernecker and Rainer), Siemens a Plus.
