Controls Technician

Position Overview

The Controls Technician will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of control systems within a food manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and troubleshoot PLC control systems to ensure optimal performance
  • Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on refrigeration systems
  • Diagnose and repair electrical issues related to control systems
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to implement system improvements
  • Document all maintenance activities and updates to control systems
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations regarding ammonia refrigeration systems
  • Train production staff on proper operation and safety protocols related to control systems

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Technology, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in control systems within food manufacturing or similar environments
  • Proficient in PLC programming and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of refrigeration systems, particularly ammonia refrigeration
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and controls
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
