We are seeking a highly motivated Controls Support Engineer to join our Customer Support team. The Controls Support Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support to our customers for our material handling systems. This position requires someone with a strong background in PLC programming and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
Provide technical support to customers for our material handling systems
Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with PLCs and other control systems
Develop and maintain documentation for control systems, including wiring diagrams, schematics, and programming documentation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues
Provide training to customers on the operation and maintenance of control systems
Assist with the commissioning of new material handling systems
Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support
Recording activities in a ticket management system for customer and internal visibility
Answering hotline calls to provide top-tier customer service to our end users
Occasional reactive support travel will be required (generally 1-2 day trips)
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Systems Engineering or related field
3-Phase power and electrical circuits
3+ years of experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting
Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar PLC platforms
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time for customer support and commissioning activities
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with material handling systems or other industrial automation equipment
Knowledge of HMI programming and troubleshooting
Familiarity with Ethernet/IP and other industrial communication protocols
