Job Title – Controls Engineer
Location – Fort Wayne, IN / Onsite
Job Type – Contract for 12 Months
Compensation: $38/Hour
Role Summary:
We are looking for excellent Controls Engineers for one of our long term clients in Fort Wayne, IN. This client is a well-known brand in the automotive industry providing services across the globe. This position is an opportunity where you can leverage your PLC and Robotics skills to serve the industry.
In this role you will be responsible for Responsible for the research, design, development, testing, installation, and modification of operational machinery, electrical control systems, circuitry, and related components.
To qualify on this role, you must have Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or technical training along with at least 2 years of manufacturing processes and equipment interaction experience.
Responsibilities of the Controls Engineer:
- Evaluates and integrates control systems, components, and new technologies to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
- Designs and tests systems for performance and safety compliance, including reviewing technical drawings and specifications.
- Collaborates with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to implement and support equipment and process improvements.
- Troubleshoots equipment issues, supports maintenance activities, and provides training on new installations.
- Maintains accurate process data and project documentation using standardized tools and methods
Qualifications of the Controls Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical training.
- 2+ years of experience with manufacturing processes and equipment, including internships or academic programs.
- Proficient in interacting with machinery via HMI or laptop.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical schematics.
- Experience with vision systems and Allen Bradley PLCs, Servo Controllers, HMI products, and related software.
- Familiar with basic electronics and embedded systems programming.
- Knowledgeable in Fanuc robot operations, including recovery and point teaching using teach pendants.
- Capable of troubleshooting, reading, and editing PLC logic and CNC programs
