Rivan Industries (Rivan.com) is a synthetic fuel company designed to decarbonise heavy industry. We aim to make synthetic fuel cheaper than fossil fuels and sustain life on earth by keeping the CO2 locked underground. We’re looking for a Controls Engineer to accelerate our control architecture of both our in-house R&D and our site deployment. The role:

• Build Simulink module library 
• Work across sub-system teams to give ability to develop & modify each system quickly
• Develop simulation of machine & create testing environment 
• Remote IO mocking
• Energy & Mass balance 
• Write machine controls
• PID loops 
• Operational state machines
• Safety state machine
• Readonly mode
• Automate embedded coder deployment
• Live update of application code (without losing state)

Core skills:

Matlab Simulink 2+ yrs:

• Large scale Simulink models 
• Module creation and general project management
• Stateflow

C / C++:

• TCPIP sockets
• Async
• Cross platform compilation 
• Software safety IEC 61508

Preferable skills:

• Matlab realtime & embedded coder (external mode, level 2 s-functions in c, .tmf / .tlc)
• Industrial controls protocols (ModbusTCP / RTU, Canbus)
• Realtime C application (FreeRTOS, Zephyr)
• General compiled language knowledge (Go / Rust / Zig) 
• Yocto linux development

Specifics:

• £60-80k salary depending on experience
• Significant share options as part of the early team
• In-person work at our HQ in Bermondsey, South-East London
• Extensive relocation support, including £6000 per year extra to live close to our HQ.
